It's a little unbelievable that the year is coming to a close already! It is equally unbeleivable that we started this project a few short months ago, and the we have made and donated 75 hats. In some aspects, 75 seems like so many, but in the bigger scheme of things, 75 seems so small.
The last month has been complete chaos, with the holiday festivities, trying to get this Web site that you are currently visiting launched, making hats, guests from out of town, work, and a little bit of travel. Oh, and did I mention hitting up the year-end yarn sales?
In the midst of all that, we have decided to contribute to a little side project, in which we have used bits of leftover yarn to make granny squares which will ultimately be pieced together with other squares from all over the country. These afghans will be given to those affected by the recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. If you're interested in this project, you can find this wonderful group on Facebook:Memory Blanket(s) for CT families
There has been so much going on, but the Christmas tree has been put away, the pine needles have been vacuumed up, and the yarn stash has been restocked! It will certainly be nice to be able to relax, pull out the crochet hooks and whip out another 75 hats!
Happy New Year!
